U M Cables Limited is a part of the US$ 750 Million Usha Martin Group. Set up in 1952, Usha Martin Group of companies is devoted to excellence and the manufacture of world-class quality products. Our product range primarily includes speciality steel, its downstream products and IT/Telecom related products. We are an Indian Multi-National, having manufacturing facilities in India, UK, Thailand and Dubai. In addition, we have own marketing set-ups in Scandinavia, UK, USA, UAE, Singapore, Dubai, Vietnam, South Africa and Bangladesh.

In 1988, Usha Martin Group set up a Jelly Filled Telecom Cable plant at Ranchi, on the east coast of India in technical collaboration with “Kabel Rheydt” formerly known as AEG Kabel, West Germany. Nine years later, in 1997, further expansion and diversification took place. This resulted in the establishment of U M Cables Limited- a fully owned subsidiary that also manufactures Optical Fibre Cables. Later on, the original Usha Martin manufacturing facility at Ranchi (called Usha Beltron Ltd.) relocated to Silvassa enabling it to expand with the growth of business. This state-of-art plant, located at Silvassa, near Mumbai, currently exports 60% of its products to more than 70 destinations across the globe and is focused on achieving even more in the future.

U M Cables Ltd holds Certificate of Recognition as ''Export House'' status issued by Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India. U M Cables has a distinct customer orientation and seeks to enhance satisfaction through world-class and value engineered products. The manufacturing facility is located over 20 Acre land at Silvassa on the West Coast of India. We have state of art manufacturing facilities & a diligent team of industry experts. We use the most modernized, advanced system and manufacturing equipment source from the best known names in the business including Rosendahl, Medek & Schroner, Watson, Nokia, Kobe, Nextrom, Queins and Gauder.

Cutting-Edge Manufacturing Process:
Our in-depth industry experience & rich technical know-how enables us to design & develop optic fiber & copper communication cables of world-class quality. We employ highly modernized machinery & trained manpower to deliver products upto client's satisfaction.

Optical Fiber Cables: Our manufacturing capability of Optical Fiber Cables involves new generation equipment and extends from UV Colouring and Secondary coating to S-Z Stranding and Tandem Sheathing/ Jacketing/ Armouring. Further, we have facility to manufacture Ribbon Fiber and Aerial Cables.

Copper Communication Cables: Our Jelly Filled Cable manufacturing facility starts with copper rod drawing and includes tandem wire drawing & insulation, twinning & unit formation, cable standing & jelly filling, sheathing & armouring. The lines are equipped with diameter controllers, spark testers, Water Bath Capacitance meters, etc. The tandem lines for PIJF cables have the capability to produce both solid and cellular insulation on copper.

The present annual capacity is 3 Million Pair Kilometers of Copper Cable & 0.85 Million Fibre kilometers of Optical Fibre Cable.
